Pam Thompson brings extensive experience employing restorative practices with struggling young people to the IIRP. A Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Pam is also a Master Agency Trainer for Aggression Replacement Training®, an evidence-based intervention for aggressive adolescents and children, and an expert on Life Space Crisis Intervention, another approach to helping at-risk youth. She has created staff trainings for both these approaches at Community Service Foundation and Buxmont Academy (CSF Buxmont), IIRP model programs. As Assistant Director of Treatment, Pam helped establish a supportive, restorative culture in all CSF Buxmont Programs in all settings: therapeutic, academic and supervisory. With more than 30 years' experience in the field as a practitioner, she is uniquely qualified to work with organizations and professionals striving to implement restorative practices in their setting.
Pam has presented at international conferences and published in the peer-reviewed journal, Reclaiming Children and Youth. She received a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Education from Penn State University and a Master of Restorative Practice and Youth Counseling from the IIRP.
Recently Pam has gotten into gardening inspired by local plant business run by a family friend’s 9-year-old son. She occasionally asks for gardening tips and consultations from the young entrepreneur and botanist.
