Community Engagement

Director of Community Engagement Henry L. McClendon, Jr., led the Restore KC project with Kansas City Museum. Staff completed restorative practices professional development, leading to an environment that uses replicable techniques to engage with community partners and individuals, facilitate difficult conversations, and create a space for healing to occur. Henry states: “The museum is creating a more unified Kansas City that can deal with its past and help shape its future.” Besides continuous instruction and onboarding, our instructors also provide support with consulting, coaching, and future-focused strategies that create an even greater positive impact.

Customized Application

Partnering with the Grant Imahara STEAM Foundation, our team assisted in developing the Life Skills Curriculum for LEGO Bot Battles. These lessons aim to build and sustain relationships with participants in the Bot Battles program by applying key principles of restorative practices, such as the Social Engagement Window.
