Instructor

Chad Ferguson is an IIRP instructor and educational consultant, working with school and district teams to reflect on their practice and plan and implement strategic school improvement efforts. He has a passion for working for and with families in underserved communities, young people who have struggled with school, LGBTQ youth, and students with special needs. Chad began his career almost 30 years ago teaching middle school science in the rural Mississippi Delta and high school math and science in the Bronx; he has served as an assistant principal and principal in Harlem, Brooklyn, and Charleston, South Carolina.   Chad has also held several district leadership positions at the New York City Department of Education and at Washington DC Public Schools. 

Chad holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in education administration from Teachers College, Columbia University.
