Instructor and Implementation Coach

Matthew Johnson is an Instructor and Implementation Coach with the IIRP.  His passion is collaborating with schools to create restorative spaces where all voices are affirmed and valued. Previously, he spent the last decade in public schools in Minneapolis, Minnesota as a school administrator, with the most recent position being an Associate Principal.  In this role he led the restorative culture team within his school, composed of teachers, scholars, and families. 

Through the Minnesota Department of Education, he has trained educators on how to facilitate circles and have restorative conversations within their schools.  Matthew has a Master of Public Administration and K-12 licensure in Educational Leadership from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science from Saint Mary’s University.  He’s married with two children and lives in Atlanta, GA.
