Therese Bartholemew, a woman whose brother was shot and killed in a fight outside a strip club in 2003, made a documentary film about her quest to meet her brother's killer. She discusses her film, The Final Gift, on CNN's "The War Room" last November.

This clip, as frequently happens in national news on restorative justice, focuses on "forgiveness," which can occur in restorative justice processes. However, it is certainly not the only reason for restorative justice nor necessary to the process. One on one meetings like the one described here depict a process called victim-offender mediation. IIRP recommends, when possible, that family, friends and other affected community be included in a restorative conference process.
