Note that it is at the discretion of the accrediting body whether or not to grant continuing education credits. Some may grant credit for our in-person events only, while others will grant credit for both in-person and online events.

Attendance at some IIRP professional development events can earn continuing education credit through the organizations listed below. The descriptions have links to view and print specific instructions and any required forms.

If you are planning to request continuing education credit, it is essential to print any forms prior to the event that require the instructor's signature. The forms can be filled out electronically before printing.

A general Certificate of Attendance indicating 6 hours of instruction time per day can be provided for any IIRP public or private professional development event. Participants are welcome to submit this Certificate of Attendance to their accrediting body for consideration, even if that organization is not included in the following list.

Facilitated by IIRP Lecturer Elizabeth Smull, M.S., our 7-week graduate course, RP 541 IIRP World Conference, brings together students from around the world to enrich conversations begun at the in-person event. Expand your learning through exposure to high quality study materials, including exclusive video interviews and the book The Psychology of Emotion in Restorative Practice, co-edited by Marg Thorsborne (a former conference presenter).

RP 541 IIRP World Conference is offered once per year in the fall term.The course brings together students from the Detroit conference, Strengthening the Spirit of Community, along with participants of the the IIRP Canada Conference in Toronto last spring. You must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent to enroll, but there are no other prerequisites.

Themes will include leading and sustaining institutional change and restorative practices in schools and community. Register by Monday, October 29; course begins Wednesday, October 31.

Request for the IIRP Apartment / Room

The IIRP is happy to offer reasonable accommodations / rooms to rent to our customers and students who are registered to attend professional development events, and we ask that you be mindful that we are not a hotel with the same services.

The apartment is a simple shared living space on the third floor (no elevator access) with private bedrooms, but most have shared bathrooms. Included are: linens and towels, internet access, laundry facilities. No smoking or lighting candles is allowed. No pets.

Cost is $50 per night, per person.
Payment must be received prior to arrival for weekend stays, as the IIRP office will be closed. For weekday arrivals, payment can be made prior to or on the date of arrival.

Cancellation Policy:
Due to the nature of the shared spaced and as a courtesy to other guests:

  • For cancellations made at least 24 hours prior to arrival and during IIRP office hours, payment will be refunded, as the IIRP has time to notify the other guests. Office hours are Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m Eastern time.
  • “No shows”: refunds cannot be guaranteed, as the IIRP will not have time to notify other guests.

Once the IIRP receives the completed form, you will be notified by the apartment manager about availability.
