Using Other Libraries

The following is a select list of libraries in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and their policies on outside users.

Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA
http://www.lehigh.edu/library

Graduate students from other institutions with proof of enrollment (student ID or letter from librarian) may obtain access to Lehigh library services for an annual fee of $50 that entitles them to borrow materials for up to 28 days and to use online resources at designated workstations.

Moravian College, Bethlehem, PA
http://home.moravian.edu/public/reeves/

Graduate students may obtain access to Reeves Library by becoming Friends of Reeves Library at the Sustaining Friend Level of $125 annually. This allows for borrowing privileges and use of online services. If you are an area elementary, middle or high school teacher, you may purchase a library card for $25 annually for the same access.

Pennsylvania State Campus Libraries
http://cat.libraries.psu.edu

Residents of Pennsylvania may obtain a Resident Borrower’s Card from any Penn State campus library with a photo ID (usually a Pennsylvania driver’s license) and proof of current address. This does not include the medical library at Hershey and the law library at Carlisle. The Borrower’s Card will allow the user to borrow up to 20 books for a 4-week period. Electronic databases are accessible on-site at any Penn State library even without a Resident Borrower's card and interlibrary loan services are also available. If you are a Resident Borrower, you may also borrow from any other Penn State library.

Rutgers University Libraries, NJ
http://www.libraries.rutgers.edu/

Residents of New Jersey may obtain a Community Borrower’s Card by completing an application form (available at http://www.libraries.rutgers.edu/rul/lib_servs/guest.shtml) and mailing the application and $100 to Community Borrower Program, University Libraries Administration, 169 College Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901-1163. You should receive a Community Borrower's Card in approximately three weeks. The card is good for one year and entitles the borrower to borrow up to 25 items for 28 days and to use databases and other resources on-site. Interlibrary loan is not available.

Temple University, Philadelphia, PA
http://library.temple.edu

Graduate students may obtain a Library Courtesy Card for $50 annually, which allows them to use Temple’s print resources and to borrow up to 5 books at a time. No access to online databases. To obtain a card, students should bring a letter of introduction from IIRP’s librarian and student identification.
