Following is a brief description of how these budgets are derived. Figures for books, transportation, food and miscellaneous living expenses are estimates and will vary for each student.
- Tuition/Fees – $587 per credit hour for a 30 credit master’s degree plus various fees, e.g. application, student, graduation.
- Books/Supplies – Costs determined by retail bookstore prices.
- Housing – Buxmont Academy shared housing assumes rent at $500 per month (some housing options are less) plus one month’s security deposit. Utilities such as cable TV/internet/phone, electric, heat, water/sewer, and trash are included in the rent.
- Transportation – Assumes $1,200 for travel to and from home country for international students plus miscellaneous local travel.
- Food/Miscellaneous Living Expenses – Estimated at $75 per week for meals at home, clothing, entertainment, and personal expenses. Also includes a laptop purchase at a cost of $1,000.
Other considerations relative to cost not included in the totals for either year: Additional living expenses per dependent (if applicable). Insurance for student and spouse of international student is $1,961/academic year, for student and all children $1,828/academic year and for student, spouse and all children. $3,148/academic year. (Rates increase with age and level of coverage.) Housing costs will be higher for other local housing secured by the student. One could estimate rent at $750 per month plus one month’s security deposit. Utilities are generally not included in the rent and might be an additional $200 per month.
The Restorative Practices Foundation, the philanthropic sister organization of the IIRP Graduate School, is offering generous tuition scholarships. International students who wish the IIRP to consider their scholarship award at the time of application to a program, instead of after admission, should contact the registrar.
